Not only do our wonderful pigs do a fantastic job of clearing the land, they produce wonderfully flavoured succulent free range pork with crackling to die for!
The superior taste is due to the fact that the piglets are given time to mature in their natural environment. From the day they’re born until their final journey they have the run of the fields. It truly is amazing to watch their natural behaviours being exhibited from day one. We think it’s wonderful that our piglets have this luxury as not all pigs raised for the table are as fortunate.
As well as producing piglets for sale so other folk can raise and breed from them, we also offer a range of Pork products produced from the pigs we raise ourselves. These products are sold ready for the freezer. We also offer a range of really tasty sausages and bacon.
Other meat we produce includes lamb, goat, chicken, ducks, geese and turkeys. The poultry we produce for meat are from both the rare breeds that we keep, supplemented by the more commercial strains. Due to the fact we allow all our birds to mature naturally over time without any growth promoters from their food – again the flavour of the meat is second to none.
If you’d like to have some of your own chickens to enable you to have fresh eggs daily, again we generally have stock available.
Alternatively if you’ve always fancied ducks in your back garden or a goose as an innovative guard ‘dog’, again both of which provide gorgeous rich eggs during the laying season, then we can generally cater for your needs.
A lot of customers that come and see the farm ask us if this is really hard to deal with the departure of the animals for meat. Again, we believe all life is special and as long as they’ve had the best life possible, it makes our job a lot easier to do at the end of that life. What makes the contract easier for us is that we get to know them as a collective rather than as individuals, therefore it’s not as hard as it may initially seem.
The same can be said of our lambs, chickens, turkeys and geese. They are all free ranging so are used to us letting them out and walking them back in in the evening. … and as they are all such inquisitive animals, if you’re not careful they’ll take advantage of you not paying attention!
Again because we are a small producer, we only sell from the farm gate, so if you’d like to buy some of produce please come and see us. To see prices and cuts for our pork, lamb, chickens and turkeys, then please click on the appropriate link.
Due to the fact we’re based on the North Downs Way (or Pilgrims Way) there’s plenty of walking to be had for those of you that fancy a stroll before lunch. If you take the option of Pilgrim’s Way you can also take the opportunity of taking in a tour of the nearby Watts Gallery.
Alternatively you could take a walk on Puttenham Common. Both routes are beautiful and lunch can be had at the Good Intent pub in the village which provides a hearty meal and they have a selection of really good beers including their guest beers.
So why not come and spend the day in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Surrey Hills.
